PhilosophyWhat I can and want to reach with this homepageSince the first edition of the German book in 1996 we have received many letters from our readers. Often, I get important inspiration or information from these letters. Many, many thanks for this important feedback! Most of the messages were and are very positive. This motivated me to continue on my way. As you know, the book shall answer the questions students and practitioners in engineering, informatics, and natural sciences have when they are sitting in front of their PC to write a Technical Report or to work out a presentation. Unfortunately, we got only a few letters from pupils, students and practitioners. Most of the letters are written by professors, lecturers, and teachers who are working at universities, universities for applied sciences, universities of cooperative education, vocational schools, and secondary schools. I would appreciate to get more feedback from pupils, students, and young engineers. Please write me an E-Mail! From time to time people ask me to provide download material like a Word file with predefined paragraph formatting styles, an example presentation, checklists, examples for the usage of color etc. I may not provide you with the patterns used at my employer. Instead you may send me example files, links and hints on newsletters, online or printed publications. I will have a look at this material, and provided it fits with the philosophy of "How to Write Technical Reports", I will use the information here on the homepage or in the book. So please tell me in your letter, where I may use your material: in the book, on the homepage or at both places. Please keep in mind, that the editorial work for my homepage and the additional material is not payed for by anyone. So I cannot pay any royalty for your material and I can accept no liability for loss or damage of your data of any kind. I am looking forward to hear from you!
